My husband and I have been wanting to try a pasty since we made it into the U.P. two weeks ago, but have been holding out because of mixed reviews. We made it to this side of the peninsula and saw Amy J's and all the great reviews, so we decided to pop in! Great prices and absolutely delicious pasties! Wish they weren't sold out of the veggie one so we could try one of each, but maybe we can try and get one before we have to leave The woman, I'm assuming owner, that was working today was very friendly and provided excellent chit chat while we ordered. We recommend this place :)

Got there right at open, the pasties were hot, fresh and ready. Absolutely the best I have ever had with homemade ingredients. Will be back!

My husband and I are here sept of 2008. We're on vacation from Oklahoma. Best pasties ever! When we vacationed up in area we always stopped here.

Excellent veggie pasties. The crust is perfect and the filling is traditional veggies only, nicely seasoned, with nothing odd added to the mix.

In the UP, hungry and would rather not go off the beaten path? Stop here, or pause here. All your senses will be happy. Sure there are many places to eat a wonderful pastie with happy atmosphere, but are they on the main road? Do they offer seating and takeout? Oh yeah, lets don't forget those Peanut Butter cookies of size Fabulous! Perfect as is, and even better if you're allowed to put your own salt on.

My wife and I were visiting the area to enjoy the fall colors last fall. Being from West Virginia, neither of us had ever had a pasty before, but as we were planning our trip weeks before, we knew that we had to find a spot to give them a shot. Amy J's Pasty caught our attention as we were looking, and the timing worked out in our outing that day, so we dropped in and had our fill! A wonderful experience all around! Big, filling portions! Wonderful flavors! Great little shop in an old gas station from a different time, and the owners graciousness in giving some of the history was a real treat!

I can’t say enough good things about Amy J’s. Hands down the best most authentic and delicious pasty you can have in the UP. I’m sorry because there are a lot of good ones but NOTHING beats Amy J’s. 5/5 you have to try! Obviously eat it the correct way with ketchup. And I like to add some butter. If you’re from out of town you have to stop in. I order extras when I leave town too to share with friends out of state. THE BEST PASTY in the UP.

This darling little shop is a hidden gem that you need to make a point to visit if you are in the area. I grew up in West Virginia, and I had never had pasties before. They have a large (16 oz) and small (12 oz) beef or vegetarian offering for you. My husband and I got 1 of each, cut them in half and shared. That was a warm hand full of delishness made with a whole Lotta love!! The flavors were amazing. And the crust was paper thin. How does she do it? If the little table inside is empty, sit a spell and enjoy your pasties and perhaps you'll be treated to some great conversation with the owners. They were both delightful. I especially enjoyed it when the locals stopped in to get theirs. You could tell they all loved the owners and it was reciprocated. Don't forget a cookie or 6!
